Two of our distinguished members are coordinating the respective tournaments. Ray DeStephanis, head coach at Roman Catholic High School is handling the boys’ side, and Bill O’Neill, head girls varsity coach at the Abington Friends School, is the coordinator for the ladies. These games will surely provide the most competitive and entertaining soccer at this level as some of the best teams in the area have been invited.
They are located at 3301 Mechanicsville Road (Dunksferry & Mechanicsville), Philadelphia, PA 19154. Games for all teams will kick-off at 9:00AM and run about two hours. We will be playing a round-robin format where one team will play each of the other three teams in forty minute games. At the conclusion of the games, a tournament champion will be announced for both the boys and girls sides.. The players will receive a commemorative shirt to mark this occasion, and also be provided with lunch.

All are invited to come out and watch these college players of tomorrow.

On Saturday, August 29, 2009 the Southeastern Pennsylvania Soccer Hall of Fame hosted its first ever high school tournament at the Parkwood Soccer Complex in Northeast Philadelphia. The tournament was designed to give boys and girls high school teams the opportunity to play some competitive, pre-season matches in a tournament setting. Girls teams included: Germantown Academy, St. Basil, Boyertown, and Perkiomen Valley. The boys tournament consisted of Father Judge Varsity, Chestnut Hill Academy, Hatboro Horsham, and Father Judge JV. After three well played, round-robin games, the tournament winners were: Girls: Boyertown High School and for the boys, Father Judge High School Varsity. The winning teams received the first ever Hall of Fame Tournament Crystal Trophy. But the day was not about winning, rather it was for the players to kick off their season with a positive experience. All players were given commemorative tournament shirts and were also provided lunch. The Hall of Fame intends to make this a yearly tradition, and next August will invite eight new teams to the tournament.
